I'm already heartbroken about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 DLC 3

Well, on one hand the release date announcement and the reveal Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2The third DLC, Mysteria Ecclesiae, got me excited. Not only is it one of the best games I've played all year, but quite possibly one of my favorite games of all time. Needless to say, whatever content the game gets I'm sold well in advance. Unfortunately, Mysteria Ecclesiae is a bit of a double-edged sword for me to play through Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 The launch of the DLC on November 11th is sure to be one of the most bittersweet gaming experiences I've ever had.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 DLC 3 Mysteria Ecclesiae Release Date

You might think I'm referring to the fact that Mysteria Ecclesiae will be the last DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and that I just can't stand the game's story ending. And if you think it's possible they'll receive more DLC after this, think again. The announced trailer for Mysteria Ecclesiae even called it “the final adventure”. However, it is not final Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 that was already breaking my heart – it's the conclusion of a much bigger story that I'm having trouble coming to terms with.

The Mysteria Ecclesiae Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 DLC is set to conclude Henry's story

Yes, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2The Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC will close the game's narrative, but it's also expected to close the book on the protagonist's story. This means that not only will the sequel's story end with the third DLC, but so will the overarching, more personal story that began at the beginning of the original. Kingdom Come: Deliverance will likely be closed as well. The story is about none other than Henry of Skalitz, who originally set out with the simple goal of retrieving his father's stolen sword, only to find himself on a journey of grief, revenge, justice, and self-discovery that has kept me going for the past seven years.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Henry ends

You might be thinking, “It doesn't start a new story for Henry in the next one Kingdom Come: Deliverance?” But I'd say you're in denial. You see, the actor who plays Henry, the great Tom McKay, posted on X in August that he had just recorded his “last DLC 3 voice over session.” This alone suggests that he simply finished recording dialogue for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. However, he continues in the same post to clarify, “so my last session for @KingdomComeRPG.”

“Last ever” – probably the two most heartbreaking words I've heard come out of Tom McKay's mouth since I first heard his voice in the original. Kingdom Come: Deliverance. If you're still holding out hope that he's not completely done with him Kingdom Come: Deliverancelet me drive the knife deeper by telling you about another post from Warhorse Studios on X that showed the team throwing a massive party with Tom and saying “Thank you Tom – you will always be a part of Warhorse history!” I think that sounds like quite a send-off if ever I heard one.

So what's the bottom line? I would bet Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2The next DLC, Mysteria Ecclesiae, is about to give Henry some heartfelt (and heartbreaking) goodbyes. At the moment I have no idea what it will look like and I dread the possibility that his story will end badly. After all, Mysteria Ecclesiae will see Henry investigate a mysterious outbreak – one that is as potentially exposed as those he will be helping. And with the third DLC's “surprise ending” confirmed, players may get a chance to choose whether Henry lives or dies.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Henry in disguise

Personally, I'd like him to eventually reunite with his romantic partner and then settle down on a quiet farm, maybe have kids. For me it would be Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2It's Katherine, who I know is old enough to be Henry's mother, but I don't care. No matter if it ends well, but after seven years with him, I still don't want to see Henry leave. Ultimately, that means more Kingdom Come: Deliverance will likely feature a brand new protagonist, although I believe Warhorse will do a great job with whoever beats Tom McKay?
