Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is out today and is already enjoying a great reception. Fans were initially skeptical about the game's first-person perspective, but now it seems it's not as bad as they thought. With Indy-style puzzles, adventures, and jokes, the game is everything fans hoped it would be, earning a “Very Positive” review on Steam.

Xbox finally has its big generation win.
Steam Deck owners were delighted to learn that they could take Indy's adventures on the go as the game was also handheld compatible at launch. However, it looks like a giant boulder has been thrown at their hopes, as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is reportedly running wild on Steam Deck.
Indiana Jones and a not-so-great performance on the Steam Deck
A report from Steam Deck HQ noted that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn't running very well on Steam Deck. “When I first started the game, all the textures were just gone. The main menu screen had what looked like a sketch of a human head, and when I tried to get into the game, almost all the trees were gone and the textures were everywhere,” said Noah Kupetsky of SDHQ.
Others, like PC Guide, have also noted that the game is generally broken when running natively on the console. Missing assets, bad framerates, blurry textures, and completely missing characters, even at extremely low settings. It will take some time for MachineGames to fix these issues given how bad they are, but luckily there is a way to still play the game on Steam Deck.
Streaming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle through GeForce Now eliminates all of these issues and the game can be played at the highest settings at 1080p. While this should give Steam Deck owners some respite, there's still no way to play the game natively without running into all of the above issues.
The developer hasn't said anything about it yet, but given how poorly the game is currently running on Steam Deck, Machine Games will be working on it soon.
