This article contains spoilers from Demon Slayer Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle turned out to be a massive anime hit this year. Immediately after it was announced, fans were absolutely certain that it would continue to make waves and potentially even break the franchise's own records, and that's exactly what happened. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle exceeded all expectations and continues to do incredible numbers even now, months after its initial release. It goes without saying that Demon Slayer Infinity Castle deserves every bit of praise it can get for what it has accomplished. However, numbers don't always tell the whole story.
Just because Demon Slayer Infinity Castle made the most money doesn't necessarily mean it's the best in terms of quality. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc dropped a few months later and it turned out to be a spectacle like no other. Although it is almost unfair to compare these two phenomenal films, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc deserves love and respect this is largely overshadowed by Demon Slayer's numbers. In terms of quality, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is, hands down, the better movie of the two and the best anime release of 2025.
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc debuts with a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes
Fans are blown away by Chainsaw: Reze Arc

Reze Arc is widely recognized as the best animated film of 2025

Better animation, better music, better writing
with American premiere Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc As we get closer, fans are eager to know how this incredible film from Tatsuki Fujimoto adapted one of the most beloved and tragic parts of Chainsaw Man. The fans now have a very clear answer to that. If the countless reviews from those who have already watched it in other countries weren't enough, then fans can check out that Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc debuts on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 100%, which is no small thing. It just goes to show that this movie is absolute perfection and captures every single aspect of the media phenomenally well.
To appease the spirits of those he killed and to make sure he doesn't claim any more victims, I will swing my blade down and cut off the head of any demon without mercy! But I will not belittle those who regret their actions and suffer because of the things they have done as demons. Because demons were once human. Because they were like me.
Overall, Chainsaw Man has a more engaging story that resonates more with fans and has far better animation. In fact, when it comes to animation, it's hard for any film to compete with it. It's musically as well, and the character writing by Tatsuki Fujimoto is second to none.

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc still can't beat Infinity Castle's numbers at the box office
The Chainsaw Man franchise isn't as big as Demon Slayer
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc may be the better movie of the two and most fans believe that, but it still doesn't change the fact that it can't beat Demon Slayer's box office records. Demon Slayer is now a cultural phenomenonsince Mugen Train. It's a much bigger franchise than Chainsaw Man, and it goes without saying that it's always going to be bigger and work higher numbers at the cash register.
However, the numbers don't always tell the whole story, and fans would do well to watch the films and judge for themselves. At the end of the day, both films are an absolute joy to watch, even if they are two completely different experiences. Fans are really lucky to witness two of the most amazing movies in the same year. We can only hope that 2026 will be as good as 2025 for anime.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is in theaters now. Fans who don't want to wait for the movies to drop can watch the manga on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. You can find all these anime seasons on Crunchyroll. However, the rest of the series will be animated into movies, which fans will have to wait for their theatrical release, depending on their country.
