There's no sugar coating that it's been a rough year Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. After Rocksteady's debut looter-shooter opened to disappointing sales and divisive fan reactions, the title, along with its post-launch content, found a small but dedicated player base. However, the fate of the game may change with the recent announcement that Deathstroke will be joining the game's roster in the next update.
Fans of the Arkham series have been waiting to see Slade join the Squad since Batman Arkham: Originswhere Amanda Waller recruits DC's greatest assassin into service. But that was almost ten years ago at this rate; Slade's debut was a long time coming. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has received a number of post-launch characters since release, but the arrival of Deathstroke is the one to really make a splash.

What will be included in the Suicide Squad Season 4 update?
There is no shortage of characters in the comics who were part of the Suicide Squad. But the game's weapon-based framework made adding characters a bit difficult. It's hard to justify why a character like Black Manta or Killer Croc would use an assault rifle to fight in the Arkham-verse. Slade is such a huge addition because not only is he a fan favorite, but because firearms are conveniently in his MO as a character. It's unclear at this point what types of weapons Deathstroke will have access to in the game, but based on his character and his historical preference for assault rifles, sniper rifles, and pistols, these seem like the safest bets.
Like the Joker, Mrs. Freeze and Lawless before him, Slade will either be outright purchaseable or available to unlock after some grinding. For returning players, it's worth noting that the unlock threshold has been eased significantly since Joker first dropped shortly after launch. Just dive into some missions or a few bucks to unlock it.
As with all updates for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice LeagueSlade and the other seven team members will have plenty of Infamous and Notorious weapon sets and cosmetics to use, including a new battle pass for the game's fourth season.
Deathstroke's arrival could mean a lot for the Arkham Universe
Longtime Arkham fans know all about Slade's involvement with Batman in the Rocksteady universe and have been wondering what he's been up to since his last humiliating defeat in Arkham Knight. Chances are they'll get all of these answers and more, as Deathstroke is the first DLC character to come from the Arkham-verse itself. The other DLC characters were all from multiple timelines destroyed by Brainiac. Deathstroke's release will probably come with some fascinating backstories about what he's been up to since the events of those games. Because even though the game is largely seen as a misstep, fans are still hungry for more information about one of Batman's most beloved timelines.
Deathstroke's release also marks the end of the game's existing roadmap. Amidst rumors swirling about Rocksteady moving on to another Batman title and WB publicly calling the game a financial disappointment, it's certain that this will be the final season. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This means that the next update will not only have to introduce the Slade Squad, but also resolve the story, kill the last of the Brainiacs, and save the last members of the Justice League: Batman, Superman, and potentially Wonder Woman. . This latest update will likely decide the fate of the Arkham-verse going forward, so fans of the series who may have opted out may want to tune in one last time to see how it all ends.
