Kingdom Two Crowns: Best Mounts, Ranked

These are all the mounts in Kingdom Two Crowns, their advantages, disadvantages and tips on how to use them.

1 Corner hermit

Increases the mobility of villagers

Kingdom Two Crowns Horn Hermit on Griffin

Horn Hermit can be unlocked on the 5th island for 3 gems. They place war horns on stone or iron walls, which are used to summon soldiers to defend a particular wall for one night, or until they are recalled by another use of the horn. The corner hermit is useful for one-sided waves, such as when all the portals on one side are destroyed, but they are not very useful in larger cities because it takes a long time for the units to cover the distance.

2 Hermit warrior

More warriors, more archers

Kingdom Two Crowns Warrior Hermit on Griffon

Warrior Hermit is on the 4th island and costs 2 gems to unlock. This hermit turns archer towers into warrior towers, allowing players to recruit additional warriors to form squads of four archers. Archers in squads don't hunt during the day, so it's a good idea to keep some archers as hunters to contribute to the kingdom's economy. Troops are slightly better at defending walls than hunters, and if the archer shrine is active, two or more troops can quickly and easily destroy portals even without player assistance.

Having more warriors can make some aspects of the game easier, but players won't lose another gameplay mechanic if they skip this hermit and spend their gems elsewhere.

3 A stable hermit

Access to every mountain

Kingdom Two Crowns Stable Hermit on Griffin

Stable Hermit is located on the 2nd island and is the cheapest hermit to unlock at just 1 gem. They turn farms into stables and allow players to access mounts they've unlocked on other islands. Each stable building can hold a maximum of 3 horses, but multiple stables can be built that also continue to function as farms. Switching mounts in stables is cheaper than in the wild.

Kingdom of Two Crowns: The Best Use of Gems

Gems are a form of currency in Kingdom Two Crowns. Here are the best things to use them for.

Mounts have different strengths and introduce a lot of new gameplay mechanics, and sometimes using several of them together gives a huge advantage. For example, a Unicorn generates gold but has no combat abilities. Players can choose to use this mount during the day and switch to a mount like Griffin or Lizard to control greed.

4 Hermit Ballista

Long range, high damage

Kingdom Two Crowns Ballista Hermit on Griffin.

Hermit Ballista is on the first island and costs 3 gems, but since there are no gems on that island, it can't be unlocked right away. Players who want to unlock this hermit must return after collecting gems on other islands. Ballista hermit turns archer turrets into, as their name suggests, ballista turrets. Due to the extremely long range and massive damage, Ballistic Turrets are much easier to deal with stronger waves in blood moons and late game. But players should keep in mind that they can only shoot in one direction and place them accordingly.

It is ideal to place these towers closer to the central square where the archer towers do not have enough range to help defend the edges. This strategy effectively utilizes the long range of Ballistic Turrets without sacrificing the sustained damage of higher level Archer Turrets. Additionally, higher level archery turrets employ four archers each, while a ballista is manned by a single worker, so archers can instead become part of squads or hunt and bring gold to the kingdom.

5 Baker Hermit

Recruit villagers easily

Kingdom Two Crowns Bakery hermit on a griffin.

Bakery Hermit is on the 3rd island and costs 4 gems to unlock. This hermit is the most expensive, but it deserves that price because it unlocks a very useful building: the bakery. A bakery can be built on archery towers, after building it players can buy loaves of bread for 4 gold, which attracts vagrants and turns them into villagers. Recruiting villagers can be very time consuming on larger islands and good time management is an important part of beating Two Crowns.

The bakery removes these hassles and allows players to focus on building, repairing, exploring and fighting. Villagers are a necessary and unavoidable part of the battle in the game, regardless of the strategy, the kingdom will always need subjects to build and fight. This makes the Baker Hermit's ability universally useful and earns them the top spot on this list.
