The following article contains spoilers for Silent Hill f.Silent Hill F is an amazing return to form for this series, which will take us from the city of the same name and rural Japan during the sixties. The game reflects systemic misogynia periods and our protagonist, Hinako Shimiza, gradually loses its sense of itself, as the narrative progresses.
According to Konatu Kato, an actress and a face model for Hinako, the recording process was also very psychologically demanding. In an interview with Famitsu, she opened her experience with Hinako playing (translated by auto).
Extreme stress
Kato says that her experience in playing Hinako has started smoothly, but the process has gradually become more demanding, unlike Hinak's own experience in Ebisugaok.
Kato had to record the same scenes several times to answer different elections of players and differences in the cutscene found in the new game+, which the actress thought, “What am I, what am I doing hinako and where?”
The actress was responsible for playing both versions of Hinako, which added a layer of complexity to the scenes because Kato had to play both parts of the conversation.
“There were times when I was crying without thinking about something. The more time I faced Hinako, the more confusion grew. I remember there were days when I felt like I was going crazy,” Kato explained.
In fact, after thinking about this experience, Kato realized that she remembered only the fragments of Hinako playing, a classic symptom of extreme stress. The actress says that the strongest feeling she had to play the character was “didn't know where I was or who I was”.
Suzie Yeung was responsible for playing Hinako in the English version of Silent Hill f. In the promotional material for Yeung, she described how she drew from her personal experience while playing Hinako.
“I think Hinako, at this stage of life, is quite rebellious, especially during this time period, Japan at the age of 60.
Silent Hill F is one of the most critically recognized games this year and holds the average score of 85 on metacritics.
