Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo New Chapter Official Release 3rd Volume

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a sequel to Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen series. It takes place 68 years after the fall of Sukuna during the Shinjuku Showdown. Written by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo has grown immensely in popularity thanks to the core legacy of its predecessor, but also its unique cast of fascinating characters and addictive story. So far, Modulo has released its first volume on January 5, 2026 via Viz Media, and its second volume on March 4, 2026. Now, after a long wait, JJK Volume 3 is coming, and it has a huge surprise for all fans in the form of new content, as confirmed in the official Jump Press by Shueisha.

Not only will the new Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo volume feature a brand new cover featuring the main characters Cross and Maru, but according to Shueisha's new Jump Press event that took place today, April 27, 2026, it will also feature a brand new bonus chapter. In this sense, JJK Volume 3 will end with extra content, just like many other Weekly Shonen Jump works before it, including the previous series, Jujutsu Kaisen.

This special chapter will act as a prologue to the fan-favorite series. Yuka Okkotsu, Tsurugi Okkotsu, Cross and Maru are the main characters that will be highlighted. Modulo's main antagonist, Dabura, will also take center stage alongside his sister Spejo. Previous main character Yuji Itadori also appears.

There are also other characters that Gege hasn't included yet, like Iori Okkotsu, that might appear. Iori's eventual appearance is even supported by official commentary on Jump Press stating that a character never seen in the Module will make an appearance. The only other character she could be referring to is Megumi Fushiguro, who was never seen or mentioned in Modulo. Based on Gege's history, this new chapter could be a compilation of short stories that would allow him to explore multiple POVs of characters from the franchise.

Technically, Modulo was not created through the Jujutsu Kaisen special chapter until 2024. It was in this special chapter that Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu were first ever depicted and revealed as Yuta's grandchildren. This special chapter could also be important for JJK's future project if Gege plans to return to the series one more time. Fans can read this new chapter in the official JJK Volume 3 when it comes out. The Japanese release of the final volume is set for May 1, 2026. Unfortunately for English readers, the wait for the final volume will be very long and has not yet been confirmed.

Jump Press has been the main event for several weekly Shonen Jump series. Not only did JJK: Modulo get a new volume, but there were other big reveals, most notably a slew of illustrations from Jujutsu Kaisen author Gege Akutami, as well as Modulo illustrator Yuji Iwasaki. The new illustration, submitted by Gege Akutami, has more in common with the original JJK series and the upcoming JJK Season 4. It featured Maki and Naoya Zenin fighting one more time. It also introduced Megumi Fushiguro, one of JJK's main characters. His father Toji was also shown next to him. The Zenin family is getting more and more attention.

As for Yuji Iwasaki, his illustration focused on Modulo. In New Stunning Art, he drew Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, as well as Yuji Itadori and Mahito. The art styles of both Gege and Yuji are absolutely stunning and these new illustrations only encourage fans to release JJK Modulo Vol. 3 as well as another anime season in 2027.
