Naruto Uzumaki has fought several opponents over the years, but few have been able to hold him back or stop him in battle. Kimimaro, one of Orochimaru's henchmen, did it. As Naruto searched for Sasuke, he was stopped by Kimimaro and the two engaged in a furious fight in which the young Uzumaki was unable to break through his defenses.

Although he wanted to get to Sasuke immediately, Naruto failed. It wasn't until Rock Lee arrived that Naruto could pursue Sasuke again, and if that didn't happen he could potentially lose the fight.

One of the most glaring failures in Naruto's entire life is losing his fight with Sasuke, which subsequently allowed him to leave Konoha forever. This happened towards the end of the first part of the Naruto series. After gaining the power of the Mark of the Curse from Orochimaru, Sasuke sought more power in an attempt to kill his brother Itachi Uchiha.

Sasuke left with the members of the Sound Five and was then chased by the members of the Konoha 11. Eventually, Naruto confronted Sasuke in an attempt to bring him back to the village, but failed.

Shortly after the two and a half year timeskip in Naruto, the Akatsuki began to move and their target was none other than the Jinchuriki of the world. Gaara, who was the Jinchuriki of One Tail, was their very first target. Deidara and Sasori attacked the Hidden Sand Village and kidnapped him. The message was immediately sent to Konoha and Naruto's team immediately left on a rescue mission. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save Gaara's life and had to be brought back to life later.

Despite going insane and stunning Orochimaru, he was unable to defeat him to take Sasuke back with him.

In reality, Sasuke was the one who stopped him and showed him the true difference in power that existed between them. Naruto was unable to take down either Orochimaru or any of his henchmen.

Failed to protect Neji

Neji was one of the members of the Konoha 11 and a genius of the Hyuga clan. He was an incredibly powerful ninja who wielded the power of the Byakugan. Neji was known to be a genius from birth. He had actually mastered several of the Main Family's techniques despite being a member of the Branches.

As time passed, Neji became a Jonin, but met his end during the 4th Great Ninja War. The man who led him to war could not save him from certain death. Neji's death was a reminder to Naruto that he couldn't protect everyone and that he would have to walk on the corpses of his own friends if he didn't have enough power to protect them.

Obito Uchiha was one of the most important figures in the world Naruto. While he set out as a young boy with the goal of becoming Hokage, he eventually became a villain and the main trigger of the 4th Great Ninja War.

Despite this, Naruto never lost faith in him and brought him to the side of good after his defeat. From there, Obito helped the Shinobi Alliance, but still ended up dying. The fact that he died before Naruto just shows that Naruto couldn't keep him safe.

Naruto Uzumaki wanted to become the Hokage of the village and surpass everyone who came before him. It's fair to say that by the end of the story, he's already accomplished this in a beautiful way. Naruto was also the strongest shinobi in the world at this point, but that didn't last long.

In the time of Boruto, Naruto is barely able to fight beings like Otsutsuki. What's more, he eventually loses Kurama's strength and is even weaker than several other shinobi around him. Naruto undoubtedly failed to stay at the peak of his abilities long before he reached old age, and that is certainly a failure on his part.
