Naughty Dog's next game will have a role for Troy Baker

Key things

  • Troy Baker will be in the next Naughty Dog game.
  • This was confirmed by Neil Druckmann in a profile on Troy Baker.
  • Naughty Dog's next game won't be The Last of Us Part 3, but that will come later.

We don't know what Naughty Dog's next game will be, but one thing is for sure: Troy Baker will have a role in it. This comes from Neil Druckmann himself, who says he will “always” work with Baker.

This is mentioned in a GQ Magazine profile on Troy Baker (thanks, Eurogamer), which describes his approach to taking on new roles. Now, with countless successes under his belt, Baker is said to be much more selective, but that doesn't mean he's skipping out on another Naughty Dog project.

The profile mentions some of Baker's few upcoming projects as he began accepting fewer roles. Right now, the only mentions are BioShock director Ken Levine's Judas and whatever Naughty Dog is working on.

Neil Druckmann is then quoted as saying on the matter, “I would always work with Troy immediately.”

I love that we have no idea what Naughty Dog will do next

If it doesn't work for The Last of Us Part 3, what is Naughty Dog up to?

Whatever Naughty Dog is working on, we're still waiting for a sliver of information. Druckmann recently revealed that the studio's next game is in development from 2020, so hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out what it is.

What about us do I know this isn't The Last of Us Part 3, so don't take Baker's comments to mean that Joel will appear in the next game in a flashback. The Last of Us Part 3 is still in the works, but it doesn't seem to be a priority for the studio right now, so we have no idea when it will be with us.

Part of PlayStation Studios, Naughty Dog has a long history of creating great games for the platform, from Crash Bandicoot to Jak & Daxter. It is perhaps better known now for the sensational series The Last Of Us and Uncharted, games that push the boundaries of great storytelling and action-packed scenes.
