PlayStation Plus subscribers signed into the Extra and Premium tiers of the service already know one new game to look forward to later this month. Usually, all new PlayStation Plus games added to the Extra and Premium tiers are added on the same day. However, there have been some exceptions to the rule over the years.
Sony usually announces new PS Plus Extra and Premium games on Wednesdays, with the June 2026 games revealed on Wednesday, June 10. The games are then added the following Tuesday, meaning that new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for June 2026 will almost certainly debut on Tuesday, June 16. On the same day, some games will also leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium library. Subscribers can expect all of this to happen as usual this month, but they'll also have access to the bonus game a bit earlier, debuting on June 9th instead.

It was announced in advance Destiny 2: Legacy Collection coming to PlayStation Plus Extra on Tuesday, June 9. Destiny 2: Legacy Collection includes The Final Shape, Lightfall, Witch Queen, Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and Forsaken expansions along with the 30th Anniversary Pack and the Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne, and Grasp of Avarice dungeons. It's not full Fate 2 experience however. Fate 2The oldest content was shelved years ago and is unlikely to ever return, and the last two expansions, Edge of Fate and Renegades, must be purchased separately at $40 each.

Destiny 2: Legacy Collection coming to PS Plus Extra in a dark time for the game. It was recently announced Fate 2Live services support ends after the big Moment of Triumph update, meaning there will be no more content or major updates to the game after that point. Fate 2 the servers will remain online, but fans of the game won't have much to look forward to, and one has to imagine that player numbers will continue to decline as a result.
Fate 2 developer Bungie focuses on Marathonhis new extraction shooter, but even that didn't exactly attract large numbers of players. Dissatisfied Fate fans started petitions demanding a Fate 3 in the light Fate 2 support is ending, but it doesn't look like it will, at least not anytime soon.

Maybe Fate 2 joining the PS Plus Extra lineup will give the live shooter a chance, especially since it coincides with the last major update. If nothing else, it will ensure that more PlayStation players can access them Fate 2 and some of its biggest expansions without having to buy the game or DLC. Maybe these individuals will enjoy themselves enough to buy Fate 2The remaining paid expansions in Edge of Fate and Renegades, but that remains to be seen. So while June 9 is a sad day for Fate 2 fans, it should be exciting for PS Plus Extra subscribers as they are in for a huge game with enough content to keep them entertained for potentially hundreds of hours.
