One Piece's Ending Kills Anime Forever

This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Final Saga.

Eiichiro Oda is the magnum opus, One piece is the greatest manga ever created. The Manga sales broke records Previously thought to be impossible, it has become one of the best-selling works of fiction ever, on a par with the likes of Harry Potter. As great as it is, One Piece is now in its Final Saga, and this raises very valid concerns about the state of Shonen Jump. Weekly Shonen Jump, as fans know it, is heavily dependent on One pieceespecially after the end of Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. Naturally, fans are curious to see if the manga industry will recover after the end of One Piece.

One Piece has become a pillar of Jumpand right now no big series are being made non-serial. You could really tell The end of One Piece will be the end of the era of anime and manga in general.

One Piece's Ending Could Destroy Weekly Shonen Jump

  • One Piece is a magazine mainstay right now

  • No series can replace one piece

One piece has been operating for almost three decades. Much to the surprise of fans, not everyone believed in One Piece when it was first featured on Jump. Regardless, it exceeded all expectations and happened best selling manga not just for Weekly Shonen Jump, but for all manga magazines in general. One Piece's success is like that became a mainstay of Shonen Jump. It used to hold a magazine with other big hits like Naruto and Bleach ten years ago and recently with Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. But all other series ended and One piece it's still there.

Like any other series, One Piece has to end sometimeand that's something fans are both anxiously awaiting and dreading. One Piece's the ending will be massiveand it will leave a huge gap in Weekly Shonen Jump that it may never be able to fill, and it will probably be a disaster.

At the moment, Weekly Shonen Jump has no other big hits. It has some good ongoing serials like Dandadan or Sakamoto Daysbut they don't even come close One piece in numbers and will likely end long before then One piece. In short, Weekly Shonen Jump is no longer a long-term series that can be relied on. Most manga now end in about five years. The magazine's only recent success was in short-lived series like Jujutsu Kaisen, MHA, and Demon Slayerbut they don't provide the same stability as One Piece for decades.

One Piece's the end will be the end of the golden era of Weekly Shonen Jumpand the magazine is sure to lose popularity for some time, just as it has been when Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk ended. Subsequently, it will affect the anime as well. When One piece will end, there won't be any more long-running blockbuster anime like that, and anime will decline in popularityand that's sad for any fan of the medium.

While One piece is in Final Saga, the series is still about 6-10 years old or so. Nobody really knows when One piece the manga is coming to a conclusion, but one thing that can be said for sure is that it's getting closer with each passing week. The series has already entered its Final Saga with the Egghead Island arc. However, Oda has also been taking a lot of breaks lately, which is the only thing extending the life of the series.

It wouldn't be far-fetched to say One piece still about 10 years left, maybe even more. There is always more to explore in this expansive world.
