Key things
- Pizza Hut has unveiled the PIZZAWRMR, a unique device that uses the heat from the PS5 to keep pizzas hot and fresh.
- Although the company does not sell the product, it has posted the 3D printing files on its website.
- PIZZAWRMR is not an officially licensed Sony product and could potentially damage your console.
Pizza Hut thinks PlayStation 5 can be more than just a video game console. Gaming and pizza have always gone hand in hand, but now the Hut is bringing them closer than ever with the release of PIZZAWRMR, an attachment that dissipates heat from the PS5 and keeps slices warm.
Oddly enough, this isn't the first time someone has thought of using Sony's flagship as a unique, if expensive, way to store a slice. Earlier in 2024, someone sold a PS5 developer kit as a “pizza kit” on eBay. The developer version of the device featured a V-shaped indentation where a slice of pizza could theoretically be placed, but that certainly wasn't Sony's intention. Nor was it the official offering of a restaurant with global reach, as this latest Pizza Hut invention proved.

5 Fast Food-Inspired DualSense Controllers We Want to See
Although McDonald's DualSense controller turned out to be a fake, it's still interesting to imagine other fast food brands working with Sony.
Pizza Hut Canada first teased PIZZAWMRR on its YouTube channel on October 29th. Although the restaurant does not sell the device, it now offers 3D printing files on its website, where anyone brave enough to try it can download and place their machine. work. PIZZAWRMR itself is fairly straightforward. A series of air channels directs heat from the PS5's exhaust to flow under the plastic shelf where users place their slices, while the laptop-style lid keeps the heat inside until gamers are ready to grab a bite. Considering how overheating the PS5 previously melted USB ports, there could theoretically be enough heat to keep a pizza hot.
PIZZAWRMR continues the tradition of fast food games
PIZZAWRMR is not an officially licensed Sony product and hungry gamers should proceed with caution. Pizza Hut recommends using food-safe PLA to print parts to avoid any plastic-related health issues or unwanted messes. Covering the console's heat exhaust is also usually not a good idea. While it should go without saying, Nintendo felt the need to warn about how dog urine can damage the Switch, so another weird console warning might be necessary here. Grease and excessive heat may not be the best for the PS5.
Strange as it may seem, PIZZAWRMR is the latest in an ongoing tradition of fast food companies taking advantage of the gaming industry. In 2020, KFC released its own console, complete with a built-in chicken warmer. The Hut itself has also made plenty of official video game tie-ins, though they've usually been in-game items or limited-edition pizza boxes rather than console accessories. However, for anyone who has ever dreamed of bringing food and games together, today is a good day to own a 3D printer.
