Pokemon GO reveals Pokemon for Community Day in May 2026

After the April event ends, Niantic reveals details about what Pokemon Go players can catch when Community Day takes place in May. April is just a few weeks away, and Niantic has started sharing some of the bigger limited-time events coming next month. For many players, Community Day is one of the biggest events of the month Pokemon Gohighlighting one particular pocket monster with better than usual chances of potentially finding a shiny variant.

In fact, players just experienced an April community day Pokemon Gowhich featured a Tinkatink-type steel fairy. Originally debuted in the 9th generation series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers who were able to evolve Tinkatink from Tinkatuff and then into Tinkaton during the event could unlock his main charge attack Gigaton Hammer. In addition to the featured Pokémon, Community Day usually also has a lot of bonuses, such as double candies, triple Stardust from catches and much more. A recent Pokemon GO leak suggests that a new game-changing virtual item with features like auto-catching could be released soon.

In a new blog post Pokemon Go revealed that Lechonk will be the featured creature during the community's May Day. Lechonk, nicknamed the Hog Pokémon, debuted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violetset in the Paldea region. The normal type can be found fairly early in this game in a place called Poco Path, and evolves into Oinkologne fairly early on at level 18. As a normal type, it's kind of a jack of all trades, master of any style pokemon, with only a weakness to fighting types while resisting ghost moves. The male and female versions also each have their own stylistic difference, with the blacker males having ears covering their eyes, while the browner females have shorter ears and a different tail.

In terms of Pokemon Gowill Lechonk's Community Day have some perks for players who participate. During the event or up to 4 hours after the event ends, players who evolve Lechonka in Oinkologne will learn the quick attack Mud Slap. This move has 11 power against trainers, while it jumps to 19 in raids and gym battles.

The May Community Day is also expected to have a number of active bonuses. Players can use a regular lure at any Pokestop to not only spawn more Lechonks, but increase the chance of a shiny or special version appearing in the background. During the event, players can also take advantage of 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance, double Pokemon catching candies, a 3-hour incense timer, and double the chance to find Candy XL for players above level 31. While the event is still a few weeks away at this point, players still have plenty to look forward to throughout the rest of April. Later this month on April 28th, Steeled Resolve will see the return of Meltan as well as the Orthworm making its debut in the game. Before that, the Replay: GO Bigger event will arrive Pokemon Gowhich allows players to battle and capture Gigantamax versions of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise and Gengar at Max Battle locations.
