Samson is getting an update to the PS5 version

Developer Liquid Swords has just confirmed that the console version Samson are currently slated for a Fall 2026 release. While the exact platforms are not confirmed at this time, it's highly likely that SamsonConsole ports will include at least the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.

Headed by one of the key characters behind Just Cause series, Samson is the first game from the new studio Liquid Swords. Samson is a third-person action-adventure game where players take on the role of the eponymous ex-criminal who is forced to return to the world of crime to pay off some serious debts. The game was released on PC on April 8th and unfortunately it was not well received by critics or the general public. Samson currently averages 53 top critics on OpenCritic, with only 33% of critics recommending the game. On Steam, Samson has a “Mixed” rating based on 2,414 user reviews. GameRant's own Nick Rodriguez gave Samson 3/10 and called it “a broken, boring, charmless mess of a game that needed either more time in the oven or a stronger vision.”

But despite the negative reception, SamsonDevelopers are not giving up yet. In a recent Steam community post, Liquid Swords revealed a new, updated 2026 plan for Samson. Right at the end of this current plan is SamsonA console launch currently scheduled for Fall 2026. Although this is a positive update Samsonconsole ports, currently not exactly confirmed which consoles Samson they will arrive, or when exactly they will arrive in the fall.

Before SamsonThe game is set to receive a number of updates when the console launches this fall. Samson has already received two massive post-launch patches, both of which have brought sweeping changes to the game that range from general stability improvements to combat improvements and even the inclusion of new tutorials that better explain specific melee and control mechanics.

According to this recent Steam community update Samson will receive a third update after launch on April 22. Along with an assortment of bug squashes and general fixes, SamsonThe April 22nd update is set to bring more combat improvements, new car variants, vehicle tuning updates for the keyboard, time trial improvements, and more performance optimizations, among other additions and improvements. SamsonThe fourth update will then arrive a week later, on April 29, and will focus on specific issues highlighted by community feedback over general performance and gameplay improvements.

Developer Liquid Swords plans to continue this weekly rollout Samson update for the foreseeable future, with the May 9 update already listed in the latest roadmap. Two major content updates are also planned for release over the next few months, with a “mid-May” update said to bring new combat-focused content. Samsonand the “mid-June” update said it would add new vehicle-focused content. In theory, over time Samson coming to consoles this fall, it should have received at least 10 post-launch patches and at least two content updates.
