Crafted goods are among the most profitable items in Stardew Valley, but focusing on these specific items will make the player especially rich.
Updated January 9, 2025 by Demaris Oxman: Honey is an unsung hero Stardew Valley. It can be a valuable crafting product and gives players a good reason to grow flowers to beautify their farms. Whether players are trying to build a honey farm like the queen bee or just want to get the most out of a few bee houses, here's everything they need to know, updated with all the latest additions and fixes from version 1.6.
Construction of the Bee House
Just like in real life, Honey in Stardew Valley is produced by bees. To grow honey, players will need a Bee house
for busy insects to do their work. The recipe for making Bee House will be available at Farming level 3. Players will need the following materials for one Bee House:
Players can also obtain the Bee House as a reward for completing the Fall Crops Bundle in the Community Center or as an optional prize from the Mayor's Prize Counter.
Once created, place the Bee House anywhere outside – on a farm, in a forest, in a quarry. No matter where it is placed, there will be a bee house produce honey every 3-4 days in every season except winter. They will produce year-round on Ginger Island. Players can choose to move the beehive with an ax or pickaxe; if the honey is ready to be harvested, it will fall and be of the same type as nearby flowers if possible.
Although they can be placed in a greenhouse, beehives will not produce honey there.
Flowers and types of honey
If there are no flowers inside five tiles bee house, will produce Wild Honey that is worth 100g (140g with the Artisan profession). However, planting flowers near it will change the type of honey and increase its value. This includes flowers planted in Garden pot
.
Since honey is considered an artisan good, it is influenced by the artisan profession. If the player chooses this profession at farming level 10, the value of all crafting goods will increase by 40%. Both regular and increased prices are listed below:
To get the honey of a particular flower, make sure do not harvest the flower before collecting the honey from the Bee House. If the flower is harvested, the honey turns into wild honey. Conversely, if the bee house produces honey, players may choose to wait until the surrounding flowers bloom to obtain that flower's type of honey.
Flowers grown from wild seeds, such as sweet peas or daffodils, do not change the type of honey; Bee houses near these flowers will produce wild honey.
What is honey used for?
Although it is better to sell the more valuable types of honey as is, players can use Wild Honey or other cheaper types to craft other items or gifts.
Mead
After harvest can be Honey located in Keg
do Mead
. In its basic quality, Mead sells for 200 gand benefits from the Artisan profession described above. Players can age him va Barrel
increase its quality and thus its value:
-
Normal: 200g (280g)
-
Silver: 250g (350g)
-
Gold: 300g (420g)
-
Iridium: 400g (560g)
Note that the type of honey used to make mead has no effect on quality or selling price product; so using Wild Honey (the cheapest variety) to make Mead results in the most profit.
Production and bundles
Although no cooking recipes contain honey, players can use it along with 1 Hardwood
and 20 Fiber

In the Community Center, Honey is one option the player can use to complete Craftsman Pack in the pantry. It can also appear in several Fish Pond quests.
Gift giving
Like many crafting goods, honey is among the best options to gift to other villagers to gain their friendship. All the villagers except Mara and Sebastian count Honey among their favorite gifts. Because it's easy to come by, Wild Honey is a great item to stock up on when you're trying to woo friends (or potential lovers).
The mead alcoholic evolution, Mead, is also a great gift choice, especially for Pam and Willy. Most of the other villagers like it too, but avoid giving this gift to Penny, Sebastian, or (obviously) any children.
