Video games rarely come out the other side of development unscathed, as ideas that initially seemed plausible, feasible, and interesting end up being cut from the final version of the game. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one game that failed to avoid the editing scissors, just like any other game. fortunately Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom however, it turned out to be a massive success, which ultimately speaks well of Nintendo's decisions.
As surprising as it may be, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ended up with a few pieces of content before all was said and done. Some of this content is relatively inconsequential compared to everything that made it into the final game, but there are probably a few cut pieces that players might want to see survive the cutting room floor. Included in the section content for Tears of the Kingdom there are additional cooking and armor effects, additional horses that can be mounted in the stable, unused items that are marked with missing names and icons present, and unused rooms in Tears of the Kingdomis Hyrule.
Several Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features ended up on the cutting room floor
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom initially had additional cooking and armor effects
One of the less significant pieces of cut content for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom it includes some additional cooking and armor effects that never made it into the final game. Two unused cooking effects, TwiceJump and EmergencyAvoid, currently exist in name only, with no indication of what their effects entailed. However, it can be assumed that TwiceJump allowed Link to double jump for a short period of time, and perhaps EmergencyAvoid initially allowed Link to automatically avoid a fatal blow while the effect was active.
Additional armor effect for Tears of the Kingdom he also never made it to the final game, although he was present Breath of the Wild. The effect, AncientResistance, was used Breath of the Wild's Ancient Armor set, which gave Link considerable damage resistance against ancient weapons. As Breath of the Wildthe Ancient Armor version is not present Tears of the Kingdomthere is no reason to implement the effect.
However, if players were to find and complete all 152 shrines
Tears of the Kingdom
for their efforts, they gain the aspect of an ancient hero, a single piece of armor that closely resembles the set of ancient armor from
Breath of the Wild
.
In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players were originally allowed to connect and register additional mounts
Perhaps the most significant piece of content that never made it into the final cut Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is that players were originally allowed to mount and register additional horses in the game. First, in its current format, players can mount Stalhorse Tears of the Kingdom but they cannot register it in the stable. This is unfortunate, given that Stalhorses allow players to ride through Gloom without harming them, but it could also make Depths too easy to navigate.
Moreover, Lord of the Mountain was originally a horse that could be registered in the stable before the whole idea ended up on the cutting room floor. Players could mount the Lord of the Mountain Breath of the Wildeven if they couldn't register it. IN Tears of the KingdomHowever, players can only summon the Lord of the Mountain by offering fruit on one of the Satori trees scattered around Hyrule. It will then appear in a cutscene, but cannot be connected.
Unused icons and names indicate that some items never made it into Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Another portion of the cut content simply comes in the form of unused icons and titles that indicate some items never made it Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfinal construction. First, there is an unused Zonai device dispenser Tears of the Kingdom which had a 20% chance to drop a beam transmitter, a 20% chance to drop a sled, a 30% chance to drop a mirror, a 15% chance to drop a fan, and a 15% chance to drop a small wheel. Second, the missing item called “Energy_Material_02” suggests that there was originally a medium crystallized charge that provided a charge between a regular and a large crystallized charge.
…The Lord of the Mountain was originally a horse that could also be registered in the stable before the whole idea ended up on the cutting room floor.
Item named “Item_Ore_K” is missing Tears of the Kingdombut it is not clear what it could have been. There is also an unused icon for Item_Ore_N showing a bundle of green-gold ingots that resemble Zonai technology. Besides, given what's missing from the list, at least five Tears of the KingdomThe paraglider stuff never made it into the final game, but it's impossible to know what it was.
Several rooms were left unused in the Final Cut of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
There are several unused rooms Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom glitches and mods gave players access. At the top of Hyrule Castle's main tower, players can slip through a closed door to find an unused room. There is also an unused room behind the Fashion Passion Shop in Gerudo Town Tears of the Kingdom. Despite the fact that both of these rooms are unused Tears of the Kingdomhowever, both were present in Breath of the Wild and retained their original models in the sequel.
There is also an unused cave Tears of the Kingdom which was present and usable in Breath of the Wild. Players can find a cave near Samasa Plain, out of bounds behind a rock wall. The cave was fully accessible Breath of the Wildeven though there was nothing in it. These unused spaces in The ears of the kingdom are clear evidence that Nintendo used Breath of the Wild's Hyrule model and simply modified it to fit Tears of the Kingdomnarration.
