The first set you must complete when you enter Moria, The Iron Hills set mostly consists of just a chest and gauntlets. Before you get the funds to restore the statues, you are somewhat exposed to the dangers of the mines. The first few days in the game are quite difficult until you get to the point where you get them.

Mithril armor can be found repairing statues in the last area of Moria, Barazinbar, and is the hardest armor to obtain. You can even finish the game by accident without being able to craft this armor. Even if the schematics are all yours, the mithril ore needed for crafting is hard to come by in the best forges and is often guarded by the hoard's fiercest guardians.
