What the developers are saying about Lies of P's Sequel

Lies PA sequel, whatever it's officially called (“Lies of P 2” would guarantee sales, but a new name would also fit its approach), is known to be in development, but neither company has revealed anything about it. That's not to say nothing was said at all, Game Director Choi Ji-Won and Neowiz Co-CEO Sean Kim alluded to it. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Kim explained that Round8 is fully focused on development, adding that Overture's success was “validation” for the team.

It was further shown that Lies P The IP and its take on the Soulslike genre is able to compete in an increasingly saturated genre, while “acknowledging the creativity, dedication and ambition shown by the entire development team”. It's nice to see a manager praising the developers and it's exciting to know that the creativity, dedication and ambition they're showing Lies P devs This is only good for the sequel, as are Ji-Won's comments.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, Ji-Won explained that he reached out to the team Lies POverture DLC “almost like a sequel and a brand new project”, which is exciting for a true sequel and a brand new project. But perhaps more importantly, Ji-Won promised that every game coming out of Round8 and Neowiz is looking for “the most fun we can get in a game,” further promising, “I won't let you down at all.” Hearing a developer speak with confidence is always a good sign, and given the general tendency of players to be disappointed, that's a bold statement. Right now, the sequel remains a mystery, but there will likely be sequels Lies P's post-credit scene. In it, Paracelcus reports to a mysterious woman on the phone about the events in Kratos, saying that the two will find another key, Dorothy, in reference to The Wizard of Oz. A brief shot of Krato is then shown with the undeniable click of Dorothy's heels taking center stage. As the IP continues to adopt children's fairy tales into Souls-like games, it can only be assumed that Dorothy is the main protagonist of the sequel, but even at this point, fans will have to wait and see.
