American Horror Story: Why I think Lisa Rinna's “Tapestry” episode is so good
American Horror Stories season 3 has a strong episode called “Tapeworm” starring Lisa Rinna and here is what I thought about it.
Monkeywhich is a great option for fans Long legsit's about an “animal not native to this earth,” as the trailer explains. As the character says, “Whoever controls it controls life and death, and those deaths are really fucked up.” The story has many hallmarks of Stephen King stories, from a little boy dealing with good and evil to a terrifying creature. It looks like it has the perfect mix of horrors and great characters.
There have been many solid horror films adapted from short stories, and King fans always hope that more of his strange stories will be made into films. This is exciting Monkey has been bringing to the screen since the publication of the short story several decades ago. After appearing in Galley magazine in 1980, published in the short story collection Skeleton's Key in 1985.
As a logline for Monkey read, it's a scary and interesting story:
“When twin brothers Bill and Hal find their father's old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths is set in motion. The siblings decide to discard the toy and move on with their lives, which have drifted apart over the years.”
In June 2024, Perkins spoke Entertainment Weekly O Long legs and shared some compelling insights about atmosphere and tone Monkey. He said: “Monkey he's like Robert Zemeckis on ecstasy or something. It's a very playful comedy with a lot of really excessive gore, language. It's an R-rated movie for kids.” When audiences hear the title of the story and the movie, they might think it's about a real monkey. But the fact that it's a toy makes it even more terrifying and fascinating.
Perkins is known for writing and directing the Emma Roberts horror filmBlackcoat's daughter and I'm a pretty thing that lives in a houseand so does he directed Marenka and Hansel and Gretel, which was released in 2020. These films investigated demons, ghosts and the infamous fairy tale villain. Now with MonkeyExpanding his horror repertoire, Perkins tells a terrifying story about a toy monkey that terrifies the main characters.
Monkey will be released in theaters on February 21, 2025 and horror fans will get a chance to see more brilliant filmmaking from Perkins.
