Windrose throws you right into the action with some tricky tasks, all while you're busy fighting deadly enemies. While quests are the gateway to leveling, coming to some quests without help can be a pirate's worst nightmare.

One of the first quests you'll come across is 15 men on a dead man's chest. He will ask you to find the Pirate's Chest. It seems simple, but a lot of players end up running around the highlighted area wondering if the game is bugged. Don't worry because the game is not bugged and we have a solution here.

How to get a pirate chest in Windrose

Fifteen men on a dead man's chest

When you unlock this quest, the game will mark the location on your map. Naturally, you'd expect the Pirate's Chest to be there. But when you arrive at the location, you see nothing. This is where most players get stuck.

The chest is actually in that exact spot. The catch is that it's buried underground and you need a shovel to dig it out.

If you don't already have a shovel, you can craft one at the workbench, but the recipe will only unlock after you collect three copper ingots.

How to make a shovel in Windrose

Getting copper ingots requires a bit of setup. First you have to mine copper from the deposits found inside the caves. These caves are easily recognizable on the map thanks to pickaxe icon.

When you have enough copper, place 12 copper in the furnace to turn it into three ingots. You will also need one charcoal to fuel the process, which you can make by putting a piece of wood into a charcoal furnace.

The wood is the easy part. Just equip the ax and cut down some trees. You'll have more than enough in no time. In total you will need x11 Wood to cover everything.

Once you have your shovel ready, you will need to return to the marked location on the map and start digging. After a bit of digging, you'll find the Pirate's Chest.

Be careful, the moment you dig up the Pirate's chest, a group of Drowned will appear and attack you, so you better be ready for a fight!

With the Drowned now dead, you can return to the chest and open it to complete the 15 men quest on the dead man's chest. as a reward Windrose players get five guineas and four silver ingots.
