Item Chicken Hat it's more for costume purposes than armor. There's real armor with high defense in the game, and then there's cosmetic clothing. This hat is rare item. The higher the rarity of an item, the more it will sell.
Making money early in the game is hard. Selling a chicken hat it's a good idea if you'd rather not wear something with a single defense.

Where to find a chicken hat
You can find the Chicken Hat at the beginning of the game. All you have to do is go to Northdell Farm.
You do not need to have completed any previous quests. You don't even have to visit a nearby city yet.
Northdell Farm is east of your farm. Take the natural path east and then take the first south path you see. From Brightoak, you'll want to take the northern path near the end of town. This will take you directly to Northdell Farm.

At the corner of the road is a lighthouse or silo. Container can be looted next to the tree next to the well in front of the building. Inside is a Chicken Hat.
Northdell Farms is where you buy most of your farming needs, such as seeds and animal care. South of the Chicken Hat location is a market stall.
