Xbox Game Pass adds Day-One gameplay with Parkour, Drama and Stealth

Sci-fi adventure Aphelion is now available at Xbox Game Passwhich joins two of its levels on the first day. It comes as the 13th new title added to the service in April 2026 and the 67th new Xbox Game Pass release of the year.

Aphelion is the latest title from Don't Nod, a French studio best known for narrative games such as Life Is Strange and Justin. Originally revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025, the game follows European Space Agency astronauts Ariane Montclair and Thomas Cross after they are separated by a crash landing on Persephone, an icy planet they are trying to explore as a potential new home for humanity. Aphelion thus offering Don't Nod's typical focus on character drama, but marrying it to a more physical survival framework: Ariane's parts emphasize parkour-style traversal and alien planet exploration, while Thomas' wounded perspective is more focused on observation and investigation. Further complicating the structure are stealth sequences built around avoiding hostile lifeforms, giving the overall package an unusual combination of cinematic parkour, relationship-driven sci-fi drama, and thrilling survival gameplay.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can get new benefits right now

Aphelion Bolsters Xbox Game Pass Sci-Fi Library

As previously reported, Aphelion joined Xbox Game Pass on April 28, debuting as the sixth day of first comer to hit the service since the beginning of the month. It is currently limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, which is a typical limitation for brand new titles. XGP Premium subscribers can see based on Don't Nod records with Microsoft's subscription service Aphelion join their library as early as winter 2026.

The cinematic action-adventure is the third Don't Nod title to join Microsoft's service in the past six months. Lost Records: Bloom and Rage and Banishers: Ghosts of New Edenboth are still available to subscribers. Not only does it bolster the sci-fi catalog of Xbox Game Pass, but it does so in a unique way with a story created by the French studio in collaboration with the European Space Agency. Persephone itself reflects this approach: the fictional icy world is framed as the newly discovered ninth planet of the Solar System, directly mirroring the real-world hypothesis that such a body may still be hidden in its outer reaches.

With the current month coming to an end, April 2026 is still slated to hit Xbox Game Pass with an unusually large number of titles. Five remain on the calendar: Trepang2, Sledding game, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, TerraTech Legionand Inkonbini. Trepang2 is the only one currently set for April 29, while the other four are set to follow on April 30.

Looking ahead to May 2026, his first title will arrive in form Final Fantasy 5. The entire wave 1 lineup will likely be officially announced on or around the same day the JRPG joins the service, May 5th.
