IN Dragon Ballit is not uncommon to see ordinary people humiliated by their powerful opponents who hail from different parts of the galaxy. While powerful Saiyans like Son Goku and Vegeta, including their half-human, half-Saiyan children, could fight on par with most villains, the same cannot be said for Earthlings with no special blood running through their veins.
8 Dragon Ball Characters Who Wasted All Their Potential, Ranked

As fans know, Yamcha eventually became a long-lasting Dragon Ball meme, made possible by his humiliating defeats. He may be an iconic Z fighter who deserves respect, but he is best remembered for his misadventures in the Dragon Ball.
Yamcha loses his tooth to young Goku
As a desert bandit, Yamcha initially antagonized Goku and Bulma with Puar. After learning that the Dragon Balls can grant any wish, he immediately planned to steal Goku and Bulma's golden balls before they could go to Fire Mountain.
When most of Yamcha's plans failed, he decided to fight Goku, not knowing that the young Saiyan knew martial arts better than anyone else. Although Yamcha used his Wolf Fang Fist, AKA Rogafufuken, in the battle, he ended up losing a tooth after Goku punched him in the face. The missing tooth ruined his handsome face and forced Yamcha to flee.
Cell Jr. Breaks Yamcha's Arm
In the Cell Saga, Perfect Cell aims to provoke Son Gohan into using his full Saiyan power. To achieve this, Cell decides to use a bunch of dwarf cells to fight the Z fighters, including Yamcha.
While Cell dwarves are significantly weaker than Perfect Cell, Yamcha had a hard time dealing with one of them himself. Not only did Yamcha have his arm broken in the fight, but he was also kicked repeatedly while lying on the ground. It's a humbling sight, especially when Cell Jr. laughs rudely in the background.

Saibaman kills Yamcha
Among Yamcha's tragic deaths in Dragon Ballhis death at the hands of Saibaman remains one of the most popular ever. After all, many fans like to joke about Yamcha's death pose, including the show's producers re-using it in a baseball game between Universe 6 and 7 in Dragon Ball Super.
Defeating Saibaman was supposedly easy for Yamcha. In fact, he overpowered one of them and even believed he could take care of the remaining Saibamen by himself. However, he got so carried away in the fight that an injured Saibaman caught him off guard, grabbing onto Yamcha before self-destructing and causing his shocking death.
The mummy's bandages almost break Yamche's back
At Fortuneteller Baba's palace, Yamcha battled Mummy Bandages. Although the Mummy looks like a weak opponent, he easily overpowers Yamchu with his speed, strength and unpredictability. No matter what Yamcha throws at Mumia, she effortlessly resists his attack.
In front of Yamcha's allies, Bandages the Mummy not only toyed with him, but locked him in a brutal backbreaker that forced Puar to tap out. While Yamcha deserves respect for refusing to give up in battle, his utter defeat at the hands of Bandages the Mummy is one of the most embarrassing moments of his Dragon Ball fighting career.
Tien broke Yamcha's leg
Before becoming friends, Yamcha and Tien were rivals in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Back then, they hated each other and threw insults at each other whenever they got the chance. So, when they finally met in the tournament, Tien and Yamcha didn't hold back in their fight, determined to find out who was stronger.
Unfortunately, Yamcha ends up losing the fight against Tien. Not only did Tien use Yamcha's Kamehameha against him, but he also broke his leg in the process. Yet Yamcha demonstrated such incredible power against Tien that he did not hesitate to apologize and then befriend him.
Android 20 Impales Yamcha
When Androids 19 and 20 wreak havoc on Amenbo Island, the Z Fighters, including Yamcha, go their separate ways trying to find the exact location of the Androids before they cause more damage. Since the androids had no Ki, it was quite difficult for the Z fighters to track them down.
Unfortunately, Yamcha was the first to discover Androids 19 and 20. Not knowing what they looked like, he even warned the Androids to evacuate, not knowing they were their enemies. Before Yamcha could react, Android 20, also known as Dr. Gero, suddenly impales Yamcha with his arm, killing him instantly, while a truck burns in the background and the rest of the Z fighters arrive.
Kami Toys With Yamcha
Yamcha learned nothing from his experience in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, only repeating the same mistake in the 23rd. This time, Yamcha confronted Hera, a weak-looking old man whose body was possessed by Kami.
During the fight, Kami tricked Yamcha into thinking he was an amateur fighter who could not actually throw his hands. Yamcha is quick to believe him and his bad judgment results in his humiliating defeat. Just imagine the pain Yamcha must have felt after Kami punched him in the groin while the audience laughed at his bad luck.
