Update 8 for Veiled greatly improved the way two-handed weapons work. All weapon types in this category received new attack animations, as well as new heavy and special attacks that came as a major part of the patch's new features. In this Veiled guide, we'll show you how to build a warrior build that takes full advantage of these new features, turning you into a veritable steel whirlwind that can cut through entire groups of enemies without breaking a sweat.

Cloaked Two-Handed Warrior build overview
The idea behind this build is to use Greatswords' cleaving attacks to sweep away hordes of enemies – it's pretty much the same as our previous one Veiled Barbarian build, but this uses all the combat improvements from update 8.
Greatswords also have lunge attacks which are great for hit and run tactics in more intimate fight scenarios against bosses or other tough targets, and of course we'll also be using stun tactics to overwhelm enemies. The build is designed for one versus many scenarios and will work well in both solo and co-op.
Skill tree
If you are just starting out veiled, focus on spending your first 30 skill points in the barbarian path of the skill tree. Focus on acquiring the following skills as soon as possible:
|
Skill |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Double jump |
Allows you to jump in the air again. Essential for all builds. |
|
The Barbarian Way |
Increases your damage with two-handed melee weapons. |
|
Two-handed specialization |
Unlocks special attacks for two-handed melee weapons. |
|
Blood Rage |
Take increased melee damage every time an enemy within 5 meters dies to a melee weapon. |
|
Heavy Hitter |
Two-handed melee weapons take increased damage. |
Get Titan Edge via Brute if you use Greatsword. If you have an ax or hammer, choose a Brute instead. We still recommend the Greatsword for this build, though any of the other two-handers will work just fine. Just keep in mind that they play a little differently.
These passives will make it easier for you to work with both hands. We choose Heavy Hitter over Whirlwind Crescendo because we usually he won't have enough time to finish a full two-handed melee combo early in the middle of the fight. The extra attack speed is much more beneficial.
As you level up and gain more skill points, take the following skills:
|
Skill |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Ruthless attack |
Enables ruthless attacks against overpowered (stunned) enemies. |
|
Kick (Survivor) |
Perform an attack kick while blocking and deal high stun damage. |
|
Dessert Stomach (Survivor) |
Get another food slot. |
|
Sweet Tooth (Survivor) |
Sweets provide 50% more stamina regeneration. |
|
Upward attack (athlete) |
Press the Attack button in mid-air to lunge at enemies. |
|
Crash Down Attack (athlete) |
Hold the Attack button in mid-air to perform a slashing attack. |
|
athlete (athlete) |
Increase your maximum health based on the Strength attribute. |
|
shockwave (warrior) |
Fire a shockwave that knocks back enemies and fills their stun bar whenever you parry or overpower a target. |
|
veteran (warrior) |
Increases your melee critical strike chance. |
|
Escape Attack (Guardian) |
Attack while running and perform a Block Breaker attack that deals double stun damage. |
Before upgrading anything, focus on unlocking new nodes first.
This skill build will cost about 80 points in total. Spend the rest of the points on whatever you want, although we also recommend getting the Ground Hook and Giant Slayer Hook to counter flying enemies. If you are dealing too much damage, consider also unlocking some passives under the Guardian path. Then upgrade Titan Edge, Barbarian's Path, and Veteran to maximize your DPS.
Device
The equipment you use naturally changes depending on how far you've progressed Veiledso instead of just suggesting one set as the be all, end all, here's a list of armor sets that synergize with this build:
All these kits have one thing in common: all are focused on DPS. That's because the playstyle of this build revolves around charging up your special attack meter to perform a devastating whirlwind move. By maxing out our DPS we get the most out of our special attack and remove any weaker targets as we build our meter.
As for weapons, any Greatsword with slashing damage and critical strike damage is most optimal, but honestly, any Greatsword will do. If you are lucky enough to get a A gilded greatswordthen it would be the most ideal option for pure DPS. We also recommend weapons that have Health Leech to keep you alive in the middle of a fight.
As for rings, anything that provides Stamina Regeneration and Health Leech will do. Two Command Rings (from Fell Wispwyvern) can get you far until you get better options later.
Food lovers
When choosing what food to eat, you should ideally eat enough Stamina, health and melee damage regeneration. There are plenty of recipes that provide this, but some options include:
-
Baked corn on the cob
-
Popcorn
-
Open the sandwich
-
Beef stew
-
Plantain curry
-
Fried rice
Don't worry about eating the right food. As long as you have full basics that increase your health, max stamina and stamina regeneration you should be good to go. Remember that you can only eat one type of food at a time. You cannot eat two pieces of meat, two pieces of grain, and so on.
