Forza Horizon 6 Cracked Before Release

Xbox, Steam and all major retailers' own websites list Forza Horizon 6 with a May 19th release date. However, pirates were able to obtain the game soon after Playground Games seemingly uploaded an unencrypted version of the title to Steam, allowing users to crack the game and save it online well in advance of the release date.

As first spotted on the r/CrackWatch subreddit, the Forza Horizon 6 files were leaked online and didn't take long to spread across the internet. Those who have downloaded the game have not been shy about posting photos and videos of the game.

It should be noted that the title isn't functional online, though that hasn't stopped people from tinkering with it. There will probably be an online fix at some point.

TheGamer can verify that the files exist. While we won't be sharing them here for obvious reasons, it's important that anyone looking for them be extremely cautious.

In the past, crack hosts have opposed posting leaks before release online, so their position is unlikely to change that practice, meaning it won't be on any “secure” websites.

“Authorized users who have paid for their game deserve to be the first to play it,” FitGirl Repacks, a cracked game repacker, wrote online. “Not pirates. No matter how much you hate Denuvo, the games are there because people buy things from the developers and publishers. And when non-payers get advanced access while legitimate customers suck their fingers, it's just wrong.”

Pre-release leaks were common in 2026

As shocking as it is to see Forza Horizon 6 in the wild, it's actually the same as 2026. The day before Pragmat's April release, the title was already playable using the Hypervisor method, a new hacking technique that put Denuvo-locked games on the back foot.

Forza Horizon 6 doesn't have Denuvo, so it would be a matter of hours before pirates cracked it. However, there is a difference between a pre-release leak and a day one crack.

Similarly, Tomodachi Life was leaked online days before its scheduled release. Its ROM files were stored online and those with Nintendo Switch emulator branches were able to play the game long before its release.

In all of these situations, the question arises as to what it means to be a paying customer when pirates can get the game much earlier.
