The gaming PC changed the trajectory of a stray bullet
While PC cases can vary in size and durability, one user can now confirm the other. A Reddit user named Angelbabyzz reported that his neighbor fired a shot in the middle of the night. A stray bullet went through their gaming PC, shattering the side glass panel and damaging the motherboard and both RAMs. The damaged case was a pink Apevia Genesis mid-tower computer case that is priced at over $100 on Newegg. Their neighbor then stated that their dog fired the gun. The neighbor immediately went to see Angelbabyzz who was sleeping at the time. According to Angelbabyzz, police said PC changed the trajectory of the bullet, meaning Angelbabyzz would have been hit if PC wasn't where he was.

Angelbabyzz said that broken glass from the tempered glass side panel was scattered all over their bedroom, which took three days to clean up. Additionally, both of Angelbabyzz's RAMs were damaged by a bullet as one of the heat shields was dislodged from the RAM module. Gunshot debris and broken glass were also found throughout the PC, including damage to the graphics card, CPU fan, and various cables. As a result, Angelbabyzz's neighbor was charged with criminal negligence and their gun was confiscated by the police.
In response to questions raised by other Redditors, Angelbabyzz said they will not pursue any further charges because their neighbor has been cooperative so far. Their neighbor said he would cover all the costs of replacing the PC unless there was an insurance claim. With the cost of RAM and graphics cards rising rapidly during 2026, Angelbabyzz's neighbor may be in for a steep bill to pay.

This isn't the first time a household item has saved someone's life from a stray bullet. In April 2025 a Pokemon TCG A player named LolaInSlacks88 was spared their Incineroar deck box after a bullet went through the wall of their cabinet and landed in the box. A 9mm bullet tore through several of them Pokemon cards, but traveled no further than where he landed. The Incineroar card that was damaged during the incident was then placed in a magnetized card protector and placed on LolaInSlacks88's fridge as a memento.
