Potential Switch 2 dimensions have appeared online, courtesy of one consumer electronics accessory manufacturer. Newly leaked specs indicate that Nintendo's upcoming console will be significantly larger than the Switch.
Despite Nintendo still refusing to officially reveal it, the Switch 2 is now widely believed to have begun mass production in late 2024. The possibility that large-scale assembly is underway is supported by a recent influx of online listings of unofficial console accessories, seemingly designed based on its leaked dimensions. Such leaks are common in the consumer electronics industry, especially for smartphones, where device dimensions often surface through third-party accessory designs weeks or even months before an official announcement.

Rumor: The Nintendo Switch 2 Dock may look a lot different than its predecessor
According to some recent rumors, the Nintendo Switch 2 and its dock might not have a problem visually standing out from their predecessors.
In one of the latest examples of this trend, accessory maker Dbrand recently shared a render of its first-ever Switch 2 case, which it plans to start selling in the near future. In a statement to The Verge, Dbrand CEO Adam Ijaz elaborated on the move, saying that the newly shared product design was not based on guesswork, but on the exact dimensions of Nintendo's next console, which the Canadian company obtained through “3D scanning of actual hardware.” When asked , what those proportions are, Ijaz said the Switch 2 will measure 270 x 116 x 14mm with the Joy-Cons attached.
The Switch 2 will reportedly be much larger than Nintendo's last console
Without the two detachable controllers, the upcoming console will still be 200mm wide, the executive said. This would make it 24mm longer than the Switch OLED model. Dbrand isn't the first accessory maker to suggest this will be the case. In early December 2024, two reports surfaced online of a purported portable case and tempered glass screen protector for the Switch 2, both of which hinted that the much-anticipated console would have a noticeably larger physical footprint than its predecessor.

If the new console is indeed larger than even the Switch OLED model, it will likely feature a larger screen. According to analysts' forecast from early 2024, the Switch 2 may have an 8-inch display, which is likely to retain the 16:9 aspect ratio used across Nintendo's current generation range of devices. Rumors have also suggested that the Switch 2's docking station will be bulkier than the one that launched alongside 2017's hybrid console, potentially providing more stability given the device's larger size.
Nintendo has said twice before that it will officially unveil the Switch's successor during its current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025. The company is not expected to release the new console until the second quarter of 2025.
