Since common items do not have any affixes, they are the only type of equipment that can be transformed into uniques with the Horadric Cube. That means that Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred encourages players to stock up on Commons at the beginning of the game so they can drop it into a random unique at the end of the game. Since Uniques are usually purpose-grown Diablo 4's Lair Bosses or randomly dropping from Helltide Chests, having a handy supply of commons to play with in the Horadric Cube could end up being an easier approach to Unique farming compared to past methods.
