There are so many ways to experience Baldur's Gate 3 this could guarantee an entirely new game, including entirely new interactions and even secret endings. Even a year after the game's release, there's still plenty to find and new ways to play the game that can fuel the urge to start a new character.
With the release of patch 7, many players started a new one Baldur's Gate 3 Play through the game to see what the new evil endings look like, but there are other secrets that players may have missed along the way. With how vast the game is and how many options there are to do, it's no surprise that there are still weapons they may not have found yet, or new characters that only appear with certain specific steps to complete them.
Warning: This article contains major spoilers for all Acts of Baldur's Gate 3!
10 Create a vision of the Absolute
Find the broken pieces of the secret spear
In Act 1, Tav may come across two siblings who are trying to save their brother Edowin, who has just been attacked by an Owl Bear. It doesn't matter what choice is made here because he'll die one way or another and players just need to loot his body to find the Broken Shaft of a Spear.
Make sure you stick to it and head towards the Owlbear Cave just ahead along the same path. Once inside, whether you kill the mother Owlbear or sneak past her, make sure you take the Head of a Broken Spear off of her. Once you have both, combine them to get Vision of the Absolute Spear, which has the Absolute Night special ability that blinds targets that fail Dexterity saves and deals additional penetrating damage to creatures with multiple eyes.
9 Unlock the Titanstring bow
Deliver the missing shipment to the Zhentarim hideout
In Act 1, players may come across a cave where two traders are hiding from a group of Gnolls who are attacking them. This is part of the Missing Shipment quest, which can be completed in a variety of ways, but for this variant, the shipment must be delivered (unopened) to the Zhentarim hideout. This is something that many players may have missed, as many chose to take the contents of the shipment for themselves – including the iron flask inside.
Once delivered, the Titanstring Bow can be purchased from Bhrema in the Zhentarim hideout. The weapon allows players to deal additional damage equal to their own strength modifier, making it an excellent choice for tank classes. The greater damage of this bow is increased by using potions such as Elixir of Hill Giant Strength, making it a one-time potential weapon for earlier areas Baldur's Gate 3.
8 Explore the basement of the Arcane Tower
Take Bernard's Ring and find the Staff of Arcane Blessing
The Arcane Tower is one of the more interesting areas to discover while exploring the Underdark, but meeting Bernard isn't the end of the adventure. When you equip the Guiding Light Ring, players will be rewarded for solving their puzzle and a hidden button will appear on the elevator to transport players between floors.
This button takes Tav to the basement of the Tower, where they find the Staff of Arcane Blessing near some shelves. The special thing about this staff is Mystra's Blessing, which gives the wielder an extra 1d4 on saving throws and attack rolls, and an extra 2d4 on all spell attack rolls.
7 Erase Minthara's mind
Take over Minthara's interrogation
If Minthara was spared in Act 1, players may encounter her in Moonrise Towers before saving Nightsong in Act 2. Interrogated by Ketheric Thorm and Disciple Z'rell, she is spared suggesting that she may be recruited after the Emerald Grove, but worse fates await her.
However, without intervention, players can descend into the Moonrise Towers prison and find her being interrogated by Sumera a second time. There are two options here; either have Sumer's interrogator break her and erase her memory, or use deception or intimidation to take over the interrogation. In this case, players can completely erase Minthara's memory, convince her to pretend she has a broken mind, or force her to join the party.
6 Accept Araj Oblodra's offer
A little blood can go a long way
Araj Oblodra in Moonrise Towers is hidden in a laboratory on the east side of the tower. He has a special request and craves Tava's blood, which gives a powerful special potion depending on the character's race.
That's not all though, as with Astarion in the group, she asks him to bite her neck in exchange for another potion. He does not agree if forced to do so, but in return can obtain a potion of eternal power that permanently increases the strength score of the drinker by 2.
5 How to find the Killer's Sweetheart Ring
Battle against yourself and your mirror allies for a neat ring
When inside the Gauntlet of Shar in Act 2, players may discover a room where they must fight mirror versions of themselves and their party in a Self-Same Trial. Because the bodies of these mirror images instantly disappear, players may have lost a powerful ring that can be discovered after defeating them.
After giving the offer to Shar, look for the Killer's Sweetheart Ring on the bench near the grill. When wearing the ring, the next attack roll after killing a creature will be an instant critical hit, making it an incredibly powerful boon for the rest of the game. This ability can only be used once, but it regenerates after a long rest.
4 Meet Honk in Act 3
A new NPC that will grunt and serve drinks on a date with Karlach
Honk is perhaps one of the rarest characters due to the absurdly specific steps required to meet him. Not only do players need to romance Karlach, but they must First, players must kill Henk, the owner of the Singing Lute Tavern in Lower Town. Only then is it good to go on a date with Karlach.
In the original scene, without any intervention from the player, Henk serves Tav and Karlach on their date. But if he is killed beforehand, he will be replaced by Honk, who is believed to be his brother. A few months ago, Honk didn't even have a wiki page to his name, which indicates how rare this interaction is.
3 The Ringless Gem and Gemless Ring
An easily overlooked secret in Rivington
This ring is easy to miss as the Ringless Gem part can only be bought from the merchant Ferg Drogher in Rivington if Shadowheart is not in the party. Since he's one of the most popular party members among players, it's likely that most might have missed it as well.
Drogher sells a Gemless Gem and players can find a Gemless Ring on a corpse near the cliffs to the east of Rivington. Put them together and players can create an Uncommon Tarnished Ring. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any special powers, but it could be an Easter Egg Baldur's Gate 3 players have yet to figure it out. Either way, it's a great little discovery in Act 3 that some may not have known about.
2 Create the Hellfire Crossbow
Discover the weapon in the steel watch foundry
While doing the Shut Down Steel Watch quest in Act 3, search the office in the back of the building to find the Watcher Crossbow blueprint. After that, players must find an aiming module, a steel guard arm, and a table in order to craft a crossbow with a Hellfire engine from the blueprints. The arm is located at X: -280 Y: -164 and the module at X: -305 Y: -156, while the table is in the same room where the players found the blueprint.
To craft a crossbow with a Hellfire engine, interact with the table and simply assemble the individual parts. The crossbow comes with some really decent damage, but also unlocks the Lightning Arrow spell for the wielder – allowing them to cast an electric arrow that explodes on impact and deals additional lightning damage to all creatures around it.
1 Get boots with very fast flashing
Surrender to Akabi's Wheel of Wonder
Circus of the Last Day remains one of the most interesting areas of Act 3, and Akabi the Djinn has become famous for turning players into a wheel of cheese or sending them into a secret jungle full of dinosaurs. However, those who have a little patience and keep playing his Wheel of Wonder can get Boots of Very Fast Blinking.
Boots are considered a junk item, but have a mechanic that allows players to use Misty Step as many times as they want without spending any spells. However, the caveat is that players will teleport without clothing. This doesn't apply to weapons and accessories though, so it could lead to some very strange and creative clashes in combat.
