STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is now available at Nintendo Switch. This release promises to bolster Nintendo's selection of immersive RPG-FPS hybrids.
Developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World STALKER the series currently includes a trio of titles released for PC over a three-year period ending in 2009. The games have gained a cult following for their immersive worlds and compelling gameplay loops combining first-person shooter mechanics with exploration, horror elements, and gear. -driven progression system appealing to RPG fans. Reissue STALKER subtitled trilogy Legends of the Zone it was dropped in March 2024 in the shadows for the last two generations of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. GSC later confirmed that this pack would also be coming to Switch.

STALKER 2 confirms the highly requested feature
Developer GSC Game World confirms that the fan-requested feature is coming to STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on all available platforms.
The company made good on that promise on October 31st when the Switch version was released STALKER: Legends of the Zone landed on the eShop. As with the Xbox and PlayStation releases, there are two ways to acquire these ports. First, they are available for purchase separately for $19.99 each. Alternatively, all three games can be purchased together for $39.99, effectively offering a 33% saving. PlayStation and Xbox versions STALKER: Legends of the Zone they've been discounted three times since March 2024, down to $27.99. It is therefore possible that the trilogy will receive frequent discounts on the eShop as well.
The STALKER trilogy is best tackled in release order
Switch players interested in playing STALKER the trilogy would do best if the games were dealt with in the order of their release. While their stories work as standalone experiences, there's still a lot of narrative depth and context that those who play the games out of sequence must miss. further Clear sky improved Shadow of Chernobyl's mechanics, much like Call of Pripyat refined Clear sky's gameplay, so tackling these titles out of order can make the older ones feel a lot clumsier in comparison.
STALKER 2 is just around the corner
Switch port STALKER: Legends of the Zone comes just weeks before the highly anticipated fourth entry in the franchise. After four delays STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is finally scheduled for release on November 20th. The long-awaited title will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. It's also long been confirmed as an Xbox Game Pass one-day release. The console versions of the original trilogy did not take any development resources STALKER 2as they were handled by Polish porting specialists at Mataboo rather than GSC.
