Not everyone in Bleach the universe is just as passionate and proactive as Ichigo. There are a few individuals, heroes and villains alike, who would rather let others do the work for them while they relax and enjoy their own company. To summarize, these characters can be considered lazy because they tend to avoid taking responsibility or getting involved in serious situations when they really should.

Thanks to author Tite Kubo's great ability to write characters, but lazy characters Bleach can still come across as fun to watch, whether it's because of their comedic humor or their sheer amount of power. Either way, they are characters that are considered to be some of the laziest in the world Bleach series.

1 Kyoraku Shunsui

Suigetsu's nonchalant personality makes him a pretty lousy fighter

• First performance: Episode 24

Soon in Bleach In the story, Kyoraku is presented as a strong but ultimately very indifferent member of the Gotei 13. When fans first see Kyoraku after Chad encounters him, the captain is lying on the floor drinking from his lone, even offering a drink to an enemy standing right in front of him.

When Chad refuses and starts launching a flurry of attacks instead of jumping into action, Kyoraku dodges everyone like child's play, all while sitting down. He takes on more responsibility as the story progresses, but even when facing deadly threats like Coyote Starrk, Kyoraku's laziness still tends to get the better of him at the worst of times.

2 Yukio Hans Vorarlberg

Yukio can almost always be seen lounging around with his handheld console

It can be easy to forget that Yukio is a member of the Fullbringers considering that all he likes to do is hide and play on his handheld console. Whenever the Fullbringers have something serious to attend to, such as when they are tasked with training Ichigo, Riruka has to be the one to force Yukio to get involved, which he does only reluctantly.

As a result, this guy gets almost no screen time, as whenever he's not urgently needed, he's supposed to be engrossed in an intense gaming session. Even though Yukio is called back for the final arc, he still rarely takes his eyes off the screen. One thing is for sure, whatever game he plays, it must take a long time for him to keep going into it with such focus.

3 Grammy Thoumeaux

Gremmy's imaginative powers mean he doesn't need to move a muscle in combat

• First performance: TYBW episode 15

Since Gremmy's ability, The Visionary, allows him to transfer anything he can imagine into reality itself, he doesn't need to move a muscle when facing an enemy, making him rather a lazy fighter. A great example of this on display is Gremmy's fight with the bloodthirsty captain of Squad 11, Zaraki Kenpachi.

As Kenpachi throws everything he has at Gremmy and is even forced to release his Bankai, which takes an immense toll on his body, Gremmy stands in the same spot for most of the fight. He even managed to summon a meteor just by imagining its existence. Fortunately, Gremmy was given this unique power because his lazy personality would definitely not be compatible with any kind of sword fighting.

4 Coyote Starrk

The #1 Espada would rather relax and watch the world go by than fight

• First performance: Episode 138

Ironically, out of all of Aizen's Espada, Starrk is the one who gets the top spot in terms of power level, as he is also the most laid back and lazy of the bunch. When Starrk is forced to go against Kyoraku during the Fake Karakura Town arc, he seems less than bothered by the captain standing in front of him, constantly telling Kyoraku that he'd rather avoid the fight if he can.

The truth is that Starrk has such a staggering amount of Spirit Pressure that it meant any Hollows that even came close to him would be killed, forcing him into isolation when he was young. As a result, despite being one of Aizen's strongest subordinates, Starrk became quite accustomed to lounging around and watching the world go by.

5 Marechiyo Omaeda

Omaed's lazy personality often clashes with his serious and stoic captain

• First performance: Episode 30

Although Omaeda begins to gain a bit more weight later in the series, he is characterized as a burden to his captain Soi Fon during the first few arcs due to his lazy nature and obsession with potato chips. Unlike his stoic captain, who is always deadly serious and focused on the mission at hand, Omaeda is a much more carefree spirit, taking a relaxed approach to the events around him.

That's not to say he wouldn't jump into action when needed, but as Soi Fon knows all too well, trying to force this guy to do his duty is no easy task. Thankfully, Kubo shows Omaeda in a much better light during the Millennium Blood War, but then again, it's hard to be so nonchalant when an army of Quinci arrives at your door.

6 Giselle Gewelle

Who needs to put in the effort when an army of zombies can do it all for you?

• First performance: TYBW episode 15

Giselle's ability, The Zombie, allows her to resurrect her friends and enemies to become members of her own personal zombie army. As a result, Giselle doesn't actually have to fight alone, instead throwing soulless corpses at the enemy and later, if she ends up getting hurt, eating their flesh for breakfast, as shown with her deceased. Bambietta's “friend”.

Since Giselle is also capable of being hacked to pieces without feeling anything, it means she doesn't have to try as hard in her fights and let her zombies get their hands dirty for her. This casual and laid-back personality helped make Giselle a lovable, if still very creepy, member of the Sternritter ranks.

7 Rangiku Matsumoto

Every day in soul company is a lazy day for Rangika

• First performance: Episode 30

Throughout the story of Bleachthere were many scenes showing what each of the Soul Reapers do on their days off. For some, like Renji or Hitsugaya, this involves training with their Zanpakuto, while for Byakuya, it may mean filling out paperwork. However, for Rangika, even though she has pressing duties to attend to, she is almost always shown being stuck in a bar with whoever she can convince to join her.

There were even instances where she was shown teasing her captain, Hitsugaya, for being too “hardworking”, often ending in bickering between them. Rangiku is another Soul Reaper who is more than willing to show what she's got when the situation calls for it, even though she'd rather take a hot bath or enjoy a few rounds of sake instead.

8 Askin Nakk Le Var

It takes a long time for Askin to actually start rehearsing when engaged in battle

• First performance: TYBW episode 17

Askin may be a high-ranking member of the Schutzstaffel, but that doesn't necessarily mean he always goes out of his way in battle. In fact, Askin tends to run away from any confrontations that look like they would require him to use at least some energy, as shown when he sprints away from Grimmjow, only to then find a nice, quiet spot where he can. enjoy a cup of coffee.

Later in the Thousand Year Blood War, Yoruichi even comments that Askin is purposefully holding back his power and just toying with his prey. If his picnic baskets and coffee makers are anything to go by, Askin would rather just sit back and enjoy some delicious snacks, which is what he does for most of the first half of the final arc.
