Like its predecessor, Outer worlds 2 doesn't try to be a big open world adventure with countless quests hiding in every nook and cranny and endless places to explore. Instead, he wants you to witness the quests and the myriad ways they can be revealed and solved. And there are certainly a lot of them.
That said, there is one quest that can happen to you while exploring, a stray radio signal begging for help. Turns out there's a farm here on Paradise Island that isn't actually in paradise at the moment. And it's up to you to help them. For profit, of course. Auntie's choice would never leave you empty-handed.
Eden's Bounty Agricenter Quest
If you want to start the Lab that screamed loudly and incoherently first, you have to do this find a distress signal calling for help. You can find it when you're midway between Westport closer to the north and the Euphoria Automech Repair Center to the south. There will be a small camp and the distress signal can be picked up.
This is not necessary to start the questthough it will point you in the right direction once tuned.
After listening, the quest will be added to your journal and you can head north to find her. Here you will find Eden's Bounty Agricenter, a potential home for growing fruits and vegetables. And a lot of reckless research, because everyone is now incredibly irritable and murderous. Good luck!
Reaching Ormsby
Once you get to Eden's Bounty Agricenter, the goal is to get to Ormsby, the researcher who sent the distress call in the first place. It is located in a large barn at the very end of the area. There is no other way to his room except through a door in the barn itself, so your best bet is to be quiet and sneak around.
While it's not necessary to complete the quest, nor does Ormsby really care, you can heal all of these suddenly murderous individuals. So if you can try to avoid killing them all now.
You can pick up a few useful items along the way. One of them is Telescopic staffa two-handed melee weapon with high damage. If you managed to enter the barn by stealth, you can also find another one Sahil Shah's pitchball card on the support beams. Just be careful not to fall.
After entering the room with Ormsby, you will finally be able to unlock the door to the side, which will allow easier access to this room in the future if you let everyone live. Hopefully. There is little you can do in the room. There is a synthesis machine nearby, even if you don't currently have the necessary items to interact with it. Instead, talk to Ormsby over the speaker.
While he's naturally shy about revealing exactly what happened or his role in this sudden change in everyone, it still asks you to create an antidote with his help. It's not good for business when everyone is killing each other and your aunt can take away your research position and kick you further up the corporate ladder.
Obtaining the data cartridge and red spores
For this Ormsby requires two items – data cartridge stored on the farm itself with additional information on the antidote, and some Red Spore sampleswhich are the primary agitator in the first place. Go for it.
Data cartridge
There's a date cartridge nearby, so we'll go get it first. It is located in to one other building in Eden's Bounty Agricenter that you can actually enter. If you've already taken everyone to the farm, then it's just a short trip inside to interact with the computer.
If you were so kind as to let everyone live, then you'll have to use a more stealthy approach. Luckily, the building has a hole in the roof, so if you reach it, you can fall right in. None of the patrolling enemies come here unless they're investigating you, so you can take your time.
The info on the terminal isn't kind to Ormsby, but download it anyway, which will give you Farmhouse Lab Data Cartridge.
You can also get it when you first enter the area, long before Ormsby asks you to pick it up.
Red spores
Next and much further are the red spore samples. While just buy oneyou can pick up as many as you want and that also means any of them can work. Fortunately, your map will mark a place where you can go.
However, the area you need to go to is also teeming with Raptidons, who have a nasty habit of turning invisible. Take your time climbing the hill where they reside, avoid them or take them out as you go. A Raptidon Colossus sa will also be sleeping up here Highly secure lock below him. Pick it up quickly if you can, or defeat the Raptidon Colossus if you want.
There are a lot of different Red Spore sample pieces to pick up here, but one is enough. After picking it up, you can head back to Ormsby.
From here you can see the beach a little further below the cliff. This leads to an alternative route to the North Island where the Vox Relay is if you want to avoid the Reverent Bridge altogether.
Return to Ormsby
Back at Eden's Bounty Agricenter, return to Ormsby, who of course hasn't moved an inch. Talk to him, at which point he'll ask you to put the items you've collected into the box under the speaker. No physical interactions for you yet. After he hands them over, he'll give you a Chemical Counteragent that you can use to make an antidote.
You can use Ormsby's instructions to create an antidote on the synthesis machine, or you can create a slightly improved version of it if you have at least four points in the medical skill. Regardless, return the antidote to him. Here you can mention the accusations you saw against him on one of the terminals, though that won't get you anywhere unless you have at least one talking point.
After giving the antidote, he spreads it throughout the facility, return anyone left alive back to normal. He also unlocks the room he previously safely isolated himself in and promises that your reward is inside.
And to give Ormsby something, the bounty is actually pretty useful. In the chest you can get Escape suitwhich is Light Armour, the Adreno Spume Booster Starter Pluswhich is an Inhaler Primer that restores a chunk of health and more over time. They finally exist four heartless laforieswhich are rare crafting materials usually found near dense zyranium.
