From the moment 4-year-old Cameron first stepped into Glimmer in Spyro 2, he knew video games would play a central role in the rest of his life. Although he never planned to make it the focal point of his career, Cameron spent the vast majority of his free time as an adult playing games, and after graduating from Reading University he thought he would try to write a few reviews. Fast forward five years (four of which were spent at GameRant), and Cameron's passion for gaming has only grown. Before the June 25, 2026 release date, fans can play the upcoming Star Fox Nintendo Switch 2 game today via a new free demo. A complete remake of the Nintendo 64 entry, Star Fox was officially announced on May 7 after months of rumors and leaks.
The free Star Fox demo is out today
During the latest Nintendo Direct, Star Fox got a brand new trailer. Along with showing approximately 40 seconds of gameplay footage, this new look Star Fox concluded by announcing that a free-to-play demo of the sci-fi shooter is coming out later today. This demo will be available to all Nintendo Switch 2 users, with fans simply having to head over Star Fox The eShop page to download the playable teaser. According to the trailer, this Star Fox the demo will include a game tutorial and one of the earlier stages of the game.
