There are various exclusive games that fans may want to get the console for, and yes, I will address the elephant in the room regarding the recently announced price increase for the Switch 2. But even so, if you're on the fence about buying new Nintendo hardware, I implore you to consider it this June.

Why June 2026 is the best time to buy a Switch 2 (before it's too late)
First, let's talk about the price increase. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting more expensive this year. The news was a few days ago, but the bump is still not alive. The price will go up in Japan on May 25th, while in the United States, Canada and Europe it will happen on September 1st. The price will be $50 higher than before, which will definitely be felt, and the console will go from $449.99 to $499.99. It follows that the console will most likely be in higher demand now through the end of August 2026.

The silver lining is that Nintendo has announced a new bundle for the Switch 2 launching in June that will allow buyers to choose one game for free. The bundle will cost $499.99, basically the same as the Switch 2 after the price increase, and will include one game between:
- Mario Kart World (original price: $79.99)
- Donkey Kong Banana (original price: $69.99)
- Pokemon Pokopia (original price: $69.99)
This is the best bundle yet for the Switch 2. Although the price difference makes the bundle a better deal if you choose Mario Kart World as your free game it's still a $19.99 discount Donkey Kong Banana and Pokemon Pokopia. Since there is no worldwide release date for the pack and only June 2026 is official for now, it's safe to assume that it will sell out quickly due to the “while supplies last” clause. With September's looming price hike, it may sell even faster, but if you want the Switch 2, you'll want to get it in June – unless you Mario Kart Worldin which case a bundle with that particular game is already available.
